Prophecy Is History in God’s Voice

My Friends, Brothers, and Sisters, I would like to share with you all, especially at a time of such great turmoil in the world, a page from my book Somos todos Profetas [We Are All Prophets] (1991), part of “The Apocalypse of Jesus for the Simple-Hearted” series, which goes as follows:

Throughout the centuries, many people have tried to ridicule the Holy Bible, but failed. And that happened because the Scriptures hold in themselves the substance that immortalizes them: the Divine Spirit, which is represented in its prophetic part.

The Apocalypse, which is authored by Jesus, is the crown of the Holy Bible. Because it is highly important, many have tried to keep it away from the crowds, since a spiritually ignorant people can be more easily dominated.

John the Evangelist

The Apocalypse reveals extraordinary secrets that are covered by notable and challenging symbolism. It will unveil to us the knowledge of all hidden things, if duly analyzed from the perspective of Fraternal Love, and never hatred. “God is Love,” as we learned from John the Evangelist in his First Epistle 4:8 and 16. Therefore, it is a book with a message of Divine Love and Justice, for it announces the Glorious Return of Christ, as found in its chapter 1, verse 7: “Behold, Jesus is returning with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the peoples of the Earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen!”

Many still think the Apocalypse is an undecipherable mystery. But in Greek, it means Revelation, and starts exactly explaining its purpose, since its introduction says: “The Revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending His Angel to His servant John, who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the Word of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ.” (The Apocalypse 1:1-2)

Considering—we say again—that Apocalypse means Revelation in Greek, where is the mystery? Why fear it? Quite the opposite: because it is a Revelation from God to us, it is Light! This is what it is: Light to free us from darkness, from all fears. Not without a purpose, Jesus, its Co-Author, said: “I am the Light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of Eternal Life.” (The Gospel according to John 8:12)

Yes! He is the Light that never produces shadows. Albert Einstein (1879-1955), in his turn, defined: “The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious.”
