As an acknowledged example of humanity, we greet the arrival of Pope Francis in Brazil in brotherly fashion. He has come for World Youth Day (Rio 2013). Young people are the future in the present!

When he was elected Bishop of Rome, as he likes to be called in his noble modesty, Argentinian Bergoglio chose the name of the poverello from Assisi, Francis, who happens to be the patron saint of the Legion of Good Will also.

It is with great satisfaction, therefore, that we see that he has a life’s purpose that is similar to the one we saw in the protecting saint of Nature; his concern for the poor. Out of respect for the different cultures and races of the planet that is our home, we learn from Jesus, the Ecumenical Christ, that Divine Love is the perfect order that directs society towards better times.

The perseverance with which young people battle for the Good can only be of benefit to our communities. That is why the evangelical recommendation of Jesus, the Divine Prophet, to “love one another as I have loved you” (John 13:34), should constantly illuminate the agenda of those who live and work for Charity, which is synonymous with Love, and Peace.

REBIRTH OF THE DIVINE SPIRIT

To greet Charity Day, July 19, with its vast reach, I present you with some extracts from my book, “Reflections of the Soul”, in which I state that the Good News of Our Lord Jesus Christ, inasmuch as it is fraternal and generous, is most diligent, dialectic, always fulfilling and - however much time passes – up to date. It speaks not only to the brain, but to the heart, and sustains you with the “peace the world cannot give you” (Gospel according to John 14:27). Hence the capacity to cure them, the starting point being the mind. It takes care of the human body in its fullest aspect, proclaiming it as the dwelling of the Spirit reincarnate. (...)

The Earth is a Divine School which is filled with the noble teachings of Jesus, the Celestial Professor. The great reform of this Sublime University is superior to the Renaissance that happened in Europe and had been previously prepared by the Muslims who went, in historical Antiquity, in search of the forgotten wisdom of the Greeks. In the West, enlightening figures, such as Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Cellini, Raffaello, Giovanni Pico della Mirandola, and Pietro Pomponazzi appeared. These and others have gone down in history as illustrious and prominent figures of the Renaissance, an artistic, literary and scientific movement (of which Galileo Galilei is an exponent) that flourished on the Old Continent during the period that corresponds to the Late Middle Ages and the start of the Modern Age from the 14th to the 16th centuries. Universalism, one of the main characteristics of the Renaissance age, considers that individuals should develop all areas of knowledge.

But the consciousness that has to shine in the world is much more than this! This is the new Resurrection of Christ and of all those who delight in the true Good that flows down on the world from God. This is the definitive Renaissance of the Divine Spirit that benefits each creature and the whole of society that is anxious for Light, even when they do not perceive it.

Let us deposit our Accomplishing Faith in the Celestial Power, in life and in progress. In short, let us keep up our spirits, trusting in the ability of human beings and in their Eternal Spirit. We must motivate it with respect and hope. Let us struggle, then, unceasingly, as Alziro Zarur (1914-1979) proposed in his “Poem to Friendship”, “even though it is little by little, to try and bring paradise to Earth.”
