Ecumenism and hard work

To join forces aimed at the solution of social problems

Under the lemma "Education and Culture, Health and Work with Spirituality", the Legion of Good Will is renowned for the contribution given to the Ecumenism field of action. In the 50’s, the famous Italian thinker, Pietro Ubaldi (1886-1972), studying the bases on which it was built, affirmed: “(...) In the present case, we find ourselves before an unification moved by healthy forces, urged in the direction of progress, because they are driven by an ideal that coordinates them. To congregate the good, respecting the consciences, that means, the religion and the spiritual patrimony of each one, is unquestionably a high ideal – a new and really modern principle of cohesion in History. The fact that the warm Brazilian soul is answering to the appeal demonstrates that Brazil is placed in the forefront of the world, and that there is something substantial in this ideal, corresponding to the new times expectations, satisfying the spiritual wishes of many. Otherwise, the masses flow and the collective approval wouldn’t be achieved.

Victor Hugo (1802-1885) warned that “the world most powerful of all armies is an idea of which time has come.” To open new understanding ways, we have constantly ruled our work by a vast Ecumenism, that is felt in all the human life sectors.

It must be practiced not only in the religious area, but in all the others, as a planetary culture. To achieve an efficient revolution, or if you prefer, a renovation that has Universal Solidarity as a survival strategy for civilized men and women. In this way, to be ecumenical should, for instance, be translated as joining forces and collaborating to find solutions to the social problems. It should also be expressed by an unrestricted concept embodied in Earth, derived from the understanding that, we are before anything Spirit, created thus, spiritually, to the image and similarity of God, as taught the Divine Educator, there is only one race, the Universal Race, constituted without distinction, by all His Sons.

Nations also vomit

The human creature importance, already so slandered, can’t be demolished in society due to “great modern transformations”, such as globalization, that if it is not enlightened by altruism, strangles the sense of citizenship, a right of the Being, that he will achieve one day, in a civilized way or through disagreeable means, because the nations also vomit. It is enough to read History. Reformations that drag multitudes to poverty, must urgently be ...reformed. That is why we must join the hoe handle to the mind, hands and philosophy forces. It is useless to preach to those who are hungry.

Let’s eliminate everything that usually divides by hatred and segregates with rancor groups of man that fear each other endlessly and therefore fight. That, which by thousands of processes, keeps the masses as if hypnotized in a slavery that reaches the shady regions of analphabetism, ethics and Spirit, opposing to the duty of supreme fraternization, provoking the exclusion of so many people that have the legitimate right to a life distant from physical or spiritual indigence.

We have frequently explained that the conciliation preached and lived by the World LGW doesn’t mean to depersonalize. That means, it respects the existing differences, taking us to an agreement path, and uniting forces for the good of the peoples, always threatened by grave dangers that must be stopped, before we are surprised by a sinister faith, built by some whose greed is larger than good sense. The numerous cultures are complementary, not necessarily antagonistic, for there are as many as the levels of perception of the beings that inhabit our only dwelling, the planet, that we should preserve, while Nature destruction is the extinction of our earthly existence.

Joy, yes; Misery, no.

Here it comes Carnival! Who can be against the people happiness? But there is an infinite distance between joy and degradation, happiness and illness, joy and hunger, joy and drugs, joy and decoy. (...) When the drumming, the axé, the samba–reggae and the timbalada end, people return to the desolation of the periphery, to the slums disenchantment, to the sad swamps, to continue to perish.. There is something wrong in it!
